Its the ideal destination for 4×4 enthusiasts, hikers, bird watchers, families, couples, school groups and nature enthusiasts.

 

 

Camping / 4×4 / Log Cabins at Karee Krans

4x4

We have 3 4x4 trails, all together 10km long. They are all natural and run over the mountains, through the kloofs and streams and offer beautiful scenery all along the way. 

There are 36 obstacles ranging from a grading of 2 all the way to  grade 5 and are suitable for beginners as well as experts. 

4x4's can come as day visitors, camp or stay in the log cabin. 

4x4 costs = R250 per vehicle.

Camping

There are 10 beautiful, big camp sites, all with electricity and trees. They are "cut out" of the bush to give a sense of privacy and seclusion and are perfect for a bush getaway. 

Campsite 10 is a group campsite for up to 25 people with its own 2 bathrooms (shower and toilet in each), 3 braais and a bonfire area.

Camping cost = R360 per night.

This is for up to 4 people. Extra people are R90 per night.

Extra kids under 12 are R60 per night

Extra kids under 5 are free

Log Cabin

We have a gorgeous log cabin situated in the heart of the bushveld. It is "cut out" into the bush so is surrounded by trees and beautiful nature with a piece of lawn and it's own private splash pool and braai area.

There is a double bed in the bedroom and 2 single beds in the lounge area. 

Log Cabin Cost = R950 per night for up to 4 people. Minimum booking is 2 nights.

Group Camps at Karee Krans

We are the leaders in leadership camps​:

• Clean accommodation: Kids stay in dormitories and bring their own bedding. We can accommodate up to 120 in the dorms, if there are more , they can be accommodated in tents.
• Delicious Food: Meals are delicious with meat served with every meal. There is always enough for seconds and desert and salads are served with dinners.
• Amazing Activities: We do programs for every type of camp. Our fantastic facilitators keep the kids busy from the moment they arrive till they depart.
• Teacher's Chalet: We have an 8 sleeper chalet for teachers (2 per room) as well as another small chalet with 2 rooms (1 per room) for bus drivers or additional teachers.
• Self-catering: There is a kitchen available for hire to self catering groups. Please note that this facility is only available to groups of 50+.
• Camp out: For groups staying 3 or more nights we can work a "camp out" into the program for a once in a lifetime experience!

 

Type of camps at Karee Krans:

Leadership camps

A leadership program is geared towards either identifying prefects / leaders for a school or towards developing the already chosen prefects / leaders.

Church camps

We have a big 200m2 lapa that is perfect for church camps. There is also a smaller prayer / classroom available for use absolutely free!!!

Fun camps

No matter what you want your camp for, we can work out a program for you. 

Tented camp

This tented camp venue is awesome for birthday parties, friend get togethers, family reunions or for a small camp!

There are 4 army tents all on permanent concrete slabs. Two of the tents contains 6 bunk beds each (so can sleep 12 each) and the other 2 contain 6 single beds each. There is also a bonfire pit, a 10x5m tent to be used as a hall and ablutions facilities (8 showers & 8 toilets) close by as well as a pool.

Maximum capacity for this venue is 36 people.

 

Things to do at Karee Krans

• Dam – the dam is the centre of attraction at Karee Krans. There is a foofie slide over the dam, canoes to play in and plenty of tilapia and carp to catch.
• River – The river is a beautiful, peaceful place to have a braai or a picnic. 
• Hiking – Hikers are free to enjoy 200 hectares of land boasting almost all of South Africa’s indigenous trees, and plenty of game and wild life.
• Bird watching – Bring those binoculars and see how many different bird species you can find.
• Mountain biking – Experienced mountain bikes are welcome to ride along the 4×4 track for a good challenge. For the less serious riders there is plenty of space to ride, explore and enjoy the scenery. Kids are also welcome to bring bicycles.
• Fishing – We have a small dam hosting plenty of tilapia and carp as well as a stream running through the farm. Kids can have great fun messing around with their fishing rods.
• Swimming – Guests are welcome to swim in the dam and in the pool.
• Canoeing  – There are canoes available for guests to play around in the dam with.
• Obstacle course – Come and test your strength and agility on our super cool obstacle course built in the blue gum forest. There are also 3 foofie slides at the obstacle course.
• Game drive - You are welcome to self drive on the farm. Our neighbours also offer a daily game drive every day for R150 per person.
